Town and village courts handle traffic violations, small claims, and misdemeanors at the local level. These are the courts where most traffic tickets are heard. It handles tort and contract cases, real property matters up to $3,000, small claims up to $3,000, misdemeanors, preliminary hearings, and traffic violations.

Herkimer Traffic Court Records

Herkimer Town Court is at 114 North Prospect Street, Herkimer, NY 13350. Court sessions are every Tuesday at 1:30 PM and 6:00 PM with alternating judges. The court clerk is available Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (except holidays). On Tuesdays, the clerk is in from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM to cover the evening court session.

This is one of the busiest local courts in the county. Speeding is the most common charge. If you got a ticket in the Town of Herkimer, this is where your case will be heard. Speeding Fines and Points

Speeding convictions in New York carry points that range from 3 to 11.
